The lighthouse at North Ronaldsay is on the island of the same name, perhaps more famous for sheep than for its wonderful lighthouse.

The original lighthouse was built on Dennis Point, about 0.5 km from where the new lighthouse is located. Built in 1789, its lantern was removed for use on Start Point lighthouse. The lantern was replaced with the spherical ball that is seen today. This unique structure is presently subject to restoration.
